Cemetery male goshawk

27 March  4 P.M.  Grandview Cemetery - Anacortes
1 male NG; Circling, flapping, soaring, spiraling, at 200 feet elevation rising to well over 5,000 feet elevation. Bright sun- naked eye. The size, shape, proportions, general color, wing holding, and wing beats all suggested male Northern goshawk. Observation time- 5 minutes!

Saint Mary's Church male Goshawk

17 March 1:15 p.m.   Anacortes - Saint Mary's Church

An accipiter went to perch in the top of a tall evergreen tree. Seconds later the hawk was in flight, and observed for 1 minute, as it went behind trees, about one-half mile away. The size, shape, and proportions of the hawk suggested male goshawk.
